Our client is an award winning Hospitality Company focused on creating memorable experiences and unrivalled events. They are currently hiring for an Events Sales Manager for 1 of their iconic venues.
The Event Sales Manager will be part of the team responsible for organising and delivering reactive commercial events from the initial enquiry stage through to event planning and meeting the event booker on the day. They will also introduce the client to the operational team and support in all other aspects of the event booking and delivery process.
The candidate will support the events team in delivering the sales and marketing plan, planning client events, and creating an innovative offer in conjunction with the chef and operational team.
The candidate will need to have excellent sales and negotiation skills, initiative, drive and enthusiasm but also an exciting and upbeat character. Good planning and organisational skills will be essential and good knowledge of accounts and finance is important. The role is challenging, fast paced and requires the candidate to be hands-on, flexible, and capable of dealing with high pressure situations.
The role is predominantly office based however the candidate may be required to be at industry events and networking opportunities outside the regular Monday to Friday working hours.
As the Events Sales Manager you will:
- Be a key point of contact for incoming enquiries
- Support the team in growing the portfolio of key client accounts
- Support with the planning of events from initial enquiry, such as providing menu tasting notes, menus, table plans, function sheets and filling
- Be responsible for ensuring invoices for own events are paid in a timely manner
- Create bespoke proposals for enquiries within agreed timeframes
- Raise and issue contracts, invoices, and final invoices for clients within agreed timeframes
- Accurately record and track revenue generated from events and special events on the company CRM system
- Write accurate function sheets to ensure seamless delivery by the operations team
- Work with the wider team to maximise sales and capacity through effective yield management
- Conduct site inspections and menu tasting with clients, as appropriate
- Upsell menus, wines, and packages as far as reasonably possible
- Creating weekly reporting for your line manager and accounts team
