Responsible for selling the full range of Hernia products within the Surgical Technologies portfolio. Managing the territory's pipeline for synthetic mesh, fixation and balloon dissection, and Permacol accounts across the region in a professional manner.

Developing detailed tactical plans that set SMART objectives for the accelerated progression of Hernia Care. Adopting a consultative approach, they will build strong ethical business relationships with key customers ensuring increased usage of products and securing new business within the Hernia Care market. Working collaboratively with other Surgical territory managers. Exceeding set targets and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.

Initially this role is covering the full region due to maternity leave but mid-2024 the region will once again split into 2 and this role will cover North London, Central London and Romford.

A Day in the Life

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Achievement of territory target for Hernia Care.
  • Building a strong regional pipeline.
  • Business development through sales and product support of a hernia care consumables while collaborating with colleagues and product ranges.
  • Selling to the NHS and private hospitals within the defined area.
  • To fully understand the product application in relation to the UK healthcare market.
  • Play an active role within the team, working to objectives agreed with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Achievement of quarterly and annual sales objectives and targets and initiatives.
  • Attendance at meetings/workshops and exhibitions as required, which may include some out of hours working from time to time.
  • Continually strive to identify areas of improvement within sales and marketing function to ensure an efficient and successful business.
  • Build and maintain an effective network of relevant key opinion leaders within the market.
  • Promote and present educational programs to professionals in the field.
  • To work in Clinical areas to educate and train medical professionals on the benefits and correct use of the hernia portfolio.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor or Masters degree.
  • Field sales expertise in the field of medical devices to secondary care in a theatre-based environment or a successful placement year with references if applying for a graduate role.
  • Proven consistent successful sales track record in theatre consumables conversions.
  • Ability to demonstrate growth and new business gained in the past 24 months.
  • Proven record of strong cross-function collaboration.
  • A thorough understanding of the NHS purchasing structure.
  • The ability to effectively negotiate with different stakeholders is essential.
  • Natural ability to spot a business opportunity and ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Able to demonstrate strong CRM usage (preferred) as part of successful opportunity pipeline management.
  • Full Current UK Driving License.

  • Used to working independently with a high level of time management skills.
