RESPONSIBILITIES

As EHSQ Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the maintenance, auditing, inspection, and monitoring of Quality Management processes to uphold quality standards in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the EHSQ Manager to provide and deliver training as outlined in the site training matrix, ensuring effective communication and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Actively participate in site EHS meetings as a staff representative, contributing valuable insights and fostering a culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness.
  • Assist in compiling data for compliance reporting, both internally (Corporate) and externally, including regular EHS performance reports for site management review.
  • Support the EHSQ Manager in ensuring site compliance with BASF Responsible Care (RC) Codes and all relevant EHS legal requirements.
  • Aid in the implementation of site-generated and consolidated annual EHS targets, measures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform emissions and exposure monitoring, conduct risk assessments, ensure environmental compliance and protection, manage waste effectively, and conduct root cause analysis and incident investigations.
  • Conduct independent EHS plant/site inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established EHSQ protocols.
  • Continuously develop your personal EHSQ competence and experience through ongoing personal development initiatives, as well as internal and external training opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have 3 'A' Levels (or equivalent), preferably in Science/Maths subjects.
  • Ideally possess NEBOSH (National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health), IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management, and/or Internal Auditor Training for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949.
  • Experience in maintaining Integrated Management Systems and coordinating external compliance audits, particularly for IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Strong background in Quality Assurance and preferably experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental disciplines.
  • Proficient IT literacy, specifically in dealing with EHSQ systems and databases for information and data capture (familiarity with SAP systems would be an advantage).
  • Proactive individual with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ideally experienced in delivering presentations and training at various levels within EHSQ.
