About us

The UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is a collaborative and cross-disciplinary environment where clinicians, scientists, engineers, and allied health professionals are constantly striving for innovative approaches to treatment and evaluation. Our research spans the full translational pathway, which is reflected in the multidisciplinary nature of our team. Our aim is to improve patient and population health, and the delivery and the quality of healthcare. We achieve this through improving our understanding of the biological, psychological and social determinants of health and clinical outcome, and through the development, implementation and evaluation of novel interventions.

About the role

This is a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual to be at the cutting edge of an exciting new research endeavour. UCLH and UCL have been awarded a new NIHR programme grant which will open from 1 July 2024 and is funded for 3 years in the first instance (or until 30th June 2027 if starting later). Subject to the programme meeting its objectives in the first 3 years of operation, it is anticipated that further funding will be made available and the post should then be extended for a further 2 years until 30th June 2029.

AIR SAFETY is an NIHR funded programme grant for applied research (PGfAR), and the post holder will have a vital role in developing its organisational structure, and providing efficient and effective operational leadership, working alongside the Director, Professor Laurence Lovat

About you

A science degree in a relevant biomedical or associated subject with subject experience in financial, project or operational management; OR relevant professional qualification with considerable experience in financial, operations or project management
Writing up research finance reports efficiently and clearly.
