The Governors are seeking to appoint a full-time and part-time trainee teacher from 1 September 2024 until 31 August 2025.

We require an enthusiastic Early Years Trainee Teacher to join our friendly, hardworking team in September. We are looking for someone who is committed to a child-centred approach with a good understanding of early years practice. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching skills and knowledge alongside outstanding early years practitioners within a supportive environment and you will also be released from school to follow the Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) programme.

The successful applicant will be a graduate, undertaking EYITT through an employment based route and will therefore need to meet the entry requirements for this course. All applicants must hold an honours degree awarded by a UK higher education institution or equivalent, all applicants must also have passed GCSE Maths, Science and English at Grade C or above before they commence their training year.

During the last six years, we have had seven candidates successfully follow this course some of whom have converted this to QTS. Our teachers have gone on to be promoted to positions in both primary and nursery schools, including Headship. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, prepared to work hard, use their initiative and share our high aspirations for our school. At our last two Ofsted Inspections (December 2013, May 2018 and February 2024) we were graded as "OUTSTANDING" in every single aspect of the inspection. "The achievement of all children is outstanding. Regardless of starting points or any barriers to learning, each child receives the care and support they need to make excellent progress."

Birmingham City Council has been selected to become one of 20 Local Authorities to offer a Financial Incentive Pilot (FIP) grant. This provides new recruits with £1000 "Golden Hello payment" after Tax and National Insurance. Term & Conditions apply. The incentive is for anyone new in the early years sector or returning to the sector after 6 months.
