What will you be responsiblefor?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working withinour Environment Agency Collaborative delivery framework andBridgwater Tidal Barrier projects, supporting the commercialteam and wider project in managing the costs and contractualarrangement for Kier.

Your day to day will include:
  • Preparingproject budgets, developing cost plans and estimating thequantities and costs of materials, time and labour required for theprojects.
  • Understanding and implementing thecontractual obligations, deliverables and KPIrequirements
  • Working on the procurement process, including preparingtender documents, evaluating bids, and helping select contractorsand subcontractors
  • Assessing project plans and scope to ensure costefficiency and value for money. Recommending changes oralternatives that may provide better value without compromisingquality or project aims.
  • Meeting reporting deadlines and assisting with theproduction of the applications for payment, CVR andforecasting.
  • Managing large and complex SC packages. Making paymentsto subcontractors, including assessing their submissions, claims,valuing completed work and arranging forpayments.

    This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great foryou if:
    • You have a detailed understanding of NEC4 form ofcontract, Options A, C and E
    • You have experience in standardforms of contracts and cost controlprocesses
    • You are proficient in standard office applications,particularly MS Excel.
    • You have an understanding of commercial risk and how tomanage and notify this as part of the commercial management of theproject
    • You have experience in large civil engineeringprojects
