IT Technician

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale 4 (£23,114) to Support Staff Pay Scale 10 (£25,545)

Birmingham Ormiston Academy is a 14 to 19 academy specialising in Creative, Digital and Performing Arts. The Academy opened in September 2011 and has over 1000 students. We form part of the BOA Group, which includes the Old Rep Theatre, BOA Stage & Screen in 2021 and BOA Digital Technologies in 2022.

We are now seeking to appoint a well organised, efficient and enthusiastic individual to liaise with the Academy's IT Provider and BOA Trust's Senior IT Technician to provide assistance and technical support to students and members of staff

The role will involve a range of tasks including (but not limited to):

Managing user accounts within Active Directory (Changing passwords & troubleshooting account issues)Changing Toner cartridges and stapler cartridges in Printers & PhotocopiersRefill paper trays in all copiers on a frequent basis each day for staff and student useKeeping an accurate stock check of tonersAdministering content to Internal Digital Signage displaysMaintaining hardware for Digital Signage (Display and Raspberry Pi)Setup of laptops and screens for meetings, presentations and assembliesDelivering and collecting laptop trolley bookings to and from classrooms and handling the booking processFacilitating laptop and PC requirements for exams and delivering as required. We are keen to attract individuals with experience of ICT support and a good level of technical knowledge. Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for more detail. You will be a proactive individual with excellent IT skills who can meet deadlines and complete tasks to the highest standards. The successful candidate will have a good attention to detail and of experience dealing with young people. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels will be key.
