Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare comprehensiveand differing forms of tenders, budgets, cost estimates, etc. for construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to determinematerial and labour costs for each project.
  • Utilise estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractor and suppliers, negotiating pricing andterms to ensure competitive bids.
  • Prepare and submit bids and proposals in a timely manner ensuring all required informationis included.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and proposemitigation strategies.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals to clients and participate innegotiations as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Level 5 Construction Management Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Surveying or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experiencein construction estimating, preferably with a principal contractor.
  • IT literate (Microsoft, construction estimating software)
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex plans andspecifications.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaboratewith internal teams, design teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes and contracts (particularlythe JCT Suite).
