AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer
Investment. Tech. Freedom. Ambition.
It's all in place. So, when are you joining?
Are you our new AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer?
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, with occasional use of other technologies. You will work closely with other teams to ensure our cloud environment fully meets all requirements.
As the successful candidate, you will focus on designing and enhancing highly interconnected systems, leveraging your exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and resolution skills. You'll independently tackle complex issues, contribute to technical discussions, and act as an escalation point for stakeholders. A thorough understanding of the relationships between cloud services, identity, and infrastructure is crucial, along with the ability to navigate standard change control processes. You will be adept at thinking creatively to devise workarounds prior to formal problem analysis. Effective decision-making and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
What you will do:
- Design and implement secure network solutions that meet business requirements and perform infrastructure upgrades and updates to maximise system efficiency while minimising downtime.
- Create and configure virtualised systems in the AWS environment, deploy applications, and build tools for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system resources in AWS.
- Create blueprints using CloudFormation templates for common workloads and develop software components that interact with AWS cloud services by leveraging the AWS APIs.
- Maintain, test, and implement disaster recovery procedures, and implement automation using scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) to manage AWS services.
- Devoted to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty, by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects that have potential to impact our customers.
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience in AWS Public Cloud development and implementation, particularly in automation and serverless architecture.
- Proven experience in developing/coding in a production environment with efficient and scalable code/automation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) and familiarity with code versioning tools.
- Knowledge of Azure and Cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL, and continual service improvement.
- Experience within the financial industry, including knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, FCA, GDPR).
- IT industry-recognised certifications are preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate at a number of different levels. A passion for programming, automation, and exploring new ideas for streamlining development processes.
What we offer: At Intrum we offer not only a challenging and rewarding career but also:
- Lifestyle: A competitive salary and attractive benefits package including 33 days holidays including bank holidays upon commencement, with the ability to buy more or sell back. - Opportunities to grow: You'll receive training and coaching for your personal development/progression, and employee recognition programmes to help you grow in your career.

- Wellbeing: You'll enjoy discounts on gym memberships, cycle to work schemes, and a 24/7 employee assistance programme. You'll also have sociable working hours and breakfast snacks provided in the office.
