About UK Assessment & Qualifications

We are responsible for the delivery of nearly 4 million examination results per annum, including A-Level, GCSE, BTEC and T-levels for students in UK and International centres. Our in-house systems process every learner from registration to marking and certification, in a highly regulated business. We currently operate a hybrid estate of predominantly bespoke systems, with an ongoing strategic transformation programme to migrate from on-prem to cloud based, cost effective, scalable and resilient services.

About the Job

The position is for Associate IT Project Manager, who is responsible for the delivery of projects within our current transformation programme.

Every project needs to be managed to ensure its success and as an Associate IT Project Manager you will know what needs to be achieved, how it will be achieved, how long it will take and how much it will cost, and works with the project team to achieve the required outcomes. We'll teach you how to become an expert in project management, starting with the basics and working up to more complex project work over a period of time. All projects will focus on delivery of software in a Cloud environment, so you'll also learn about the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) in addition to your formal training, and have the option to obtain AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.

About the Apprenticeship

You will be supported on the Associate Project Manager Level 4 Standard which will help build your skills and knowledge and will take you up to 24 months to complete. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and the Associate Project Management Apprenticeship Level 4 standard.

About You

We're looking for a strong communicator with the ability to build great working relationships. You'll be a good problem solver, with an added ability to think analytically and logically and adapt well to change. Crucially, we're looking for people with a passion for learning and high levels of determination, motivation and drive to succeed.

Candidates must have achieved a grade C / 4 or above in at least 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics, and hold a minimum of 48 UCAS points or equivalent.

Job Location and Hours

The role is aligned to our Rotherham, located at Junction 1 of the M18. or Oxford located at 2600 John Smith Drive, Oxford Business Park South, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 2JY.

You will be a hybrid worker, visiting your base office no more than once a week with the possibility of occasional travel to other Pearson sites.

We work a 37.5-hour week, with all our team free to flex their day around our core hours, which are Monday to Friday, 10 to 4 GMT/BST. School runs, etc can be accommodated. Other flexible working patterns can be considered, including part-time working and non-traditional hours. As we regularly work with global teams, particularly in India and the US, there may be the occasional need to accommodate meetings outside of core hours.
