Merchiston Castle School is seeking to appoint a dynamic teacher to join our thriving Physics department. We have a vacancy for a Teacher of Physics (with the ability to teach the other sciences and/or Maths up to at least Year 9). The successful candidate will start Autumn Term 2024, with some flexibility on start date. As Scotland's only independent boarding school for boys, Merchiston's genuine focus is on the needs of each pupil and understanding how to help him thrive. With the support of our caring community, each boy is encouraged to unearth his talents, pursue excellence and flourish in myriad ways.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in the Science department, teaching Physics at all levels including IGCSE and A Level and making a contribution to Junior Science and/or the teaching of Maths as appropriate. They will have a proven record of successful teaching practices and tailoring programmes to pupils' needs. They will demonstrate commitment to safeguarding children and young people, excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for education.

These posts are considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
