Pleasington Golf Club in Blackburn are recruiting for an Apprentice Commis Chef.

The successful candidate will work towards their Level 2 Catering and Hospitality which wil take approximately 20 months to complete.


Duties:

  • The preparation, cooking and presentation of food to menu specifications using fresh ingredients
  • Production of soups and sauces
  • Learning about stock control, portion control and food wastage
  • Understanding dietary requirements
  • Involved in the preparation and production of event catering
  • How to use specialist kitchen equipment safely and correctly
  • Keeping a safe and hygienic working environment
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised

Requirements:

  • Team orientated
  • Ability to work independently towards a shared goal.
  • Attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills

Grades:
No formal qualifications required.

Hours:
Rota basis / 5 days out of 7 / 8:00am earliest start 8:00pm latest finish / minimum 30 hours per week
