The Role
Herefordshire Council is looking to appoint a highly motivated EAL Team Leader. This presents an exciting opportunity to improve educational outcomes for all children and young people in Herefordshire by playing a major role in improving teaching and learning outcomes for all EAL learners.
As the EAL Team leader, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a small team of EAL teachers and assistants. The role will require you to develop and implement effective EAL strategies and to be able to foster an inclusive environment for all EAL students.
The successful candidate will use skills gained through academic or professional qualifications and practical experience. They will have excellent communication, organisational and people skills together with experience of working with EAL students in schools or similar organisations. You will also have experience of monitoring and assessing pupil progress and have the ability to create bespoke training packages and interventions.
