Are you a reflective, skilled and passionate early years professional with proven experience of securing quality outcomes for young learners with emerging needs through the provision of exceptional, inclusive learning environments and highly effective support strategies and interventions as part of the graduated response?

This role is an ideal secondment opportunity for an early years practitioner to work in an advisory role or for a short term professional challenge.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Early Years Quality and Impact Team in a new, innovative role as an Early Years Emerging Needs Support Officer until March 2025.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to work alongside the Early Years Quality and Impact Team to help ensure funded non-maintained early years providers meet their responsibilities for inclusive practice under the ALNET Act and Code and the Equality Act

Under direction from the Early Years Quality and Impact Manager, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with the link advisors and link development officers to quality assure settings' inclusive provision and practice, and provide additional support where improvements are required.

The successful candidate will provide high quality advice, practical support and strategies that meet the individual needs of the child with emerging needs and contributing to the planning and delivery of provision. You will advise early years practitioners and non-maintained setting staff about differentiated approaches appropriate for children with emerging needs by role modelling supportive practice/interventions.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

Substantial experience of delivering high quality early years provision, inclusive of children with emerging needs and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

A good working knowledge of relevant sector legislation and guidance, such as: The National Minimum Standards, the Curriculum and assessment arrangements for non-maintained settings, CIW and Estyn inspection frameworks.

To communicate effectively, building professional relationships, maintaining regular contact, and working in partnership with non-maintained providers, multi-agency professionals and early years colleagues in the Quality and Impact Team and the Learner Support Team.
