Job Description

To reduce crime, the fear of crime and antisocial behaviour and to improve the quality of the environment.

To support Community Safety Strategic Group (CSSG) objectives and assist in creating safer communities, increase public confidence and generally improve the quality of life.

Requirements

To investigate reported Antisocial Behaviour incidents and implement appropriate measures within specified timescales.

To work proactively within local communities, to promote issues that provide safer communities and improve quality of life within the community.

To provide a physical presence in identified hot spots, working in partnership with other Moray Council Services and Community Safety Partners.

To work in partnership with Moray Council departments and Community Safety Partners.

To promote issues that provide safer communities and improve quality of life across Moray.

To investigate reports of Abandoned Vehicles and implement relevant actions in line corresponding legislation and Moray Council procedures.

To input and update information into Council computer systems, compile reports, correspondence, or other reports as required in connection with above tasks.

Any other duty as may be required.

The Individual

Ability to handle difficult situations and make decisions accordingly

Previous experience of dealing with the public

Competency in numeracy and literacy

HNC or equivalent standard of education.

Have the ability to understand interpret and enforce legislation

Ability to use initiative in day to day tasks and problem solving situations

Ability to participate as a team member

Effective written and oral communication skills

Ability to maintain personal motivation and directions whilst under minimal supervision

Ability to understand and follow instructions

Ability to work in partnership with other agencies

Appreciation and acceptance of, and commitment to the importance of confidentiality

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.

Good eyesight of at least a standard required for driving.

Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.

Flexible in approach to work to cover occasional overtime/extra shifts as required

Starting Salary: £29,142.10

£15.46 per hour

36.25 hours per week
