As Category Analyst, you will play a key role in developing the "Sold With" proposition through identifying opportunities, analysing market trends & consumer behaviour, whilst implementing initiatives to drive financially viable solutions for our customers. Working in conjunction with Commercial, Commercial Finance, Selling team, Online, Customer insights, Data & Analytics an Marketing, you will use data to make recommendations for pricing, promotions and assortment strategies to maximise sales and profitability.

To help 'Everybody Enjoy Amazing Technology' by putting the customer at the centre of the decision-making process, we continue to transform the products, bundles and full solutions offered. Joining a project which is already in-flight, this role will seek to understand existing performance, search for key trends and identify further opportunities which are viable and financially beneficial.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct desktop research to identify trends and opportunities within the "Sold With" Categories
  • Analyse sales data and financial performance to provide actionable insights for business improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and enhance reporting capabilities, ensuring alignment and commitment to delivery
  • Support Senior Category team in creating comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, outlining key performance indicators
  • Prepare data to allow the team to evaluate and optimize pricing strategies, working closely with the Pricing team to deliver a competitive offer, which is reflective of market dynamics
  • Utilise data-driven approaches to enhance the customer offer and support in the shaping of marketing campaigns which are channel appropriate
  • Produce data which monitors and assesses the effectiveness of ranges, promotional campaigns, trials and key initiatives
  • Assist in budgeting processes by providing data-driven insights to support financial planning
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to ensure the landscape is understood and central to all decision making
    Experience/Skills Required:
    • Experience in data analysis, preferably in the retail sector
    • Strong proficiency in data visualization tools and advanced Excel skills
    • Strong communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis
    • Problem-solving mindset and ability to think strategically
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers internally and external third parties
    • Demonstrates resilience and be adaptable to change, meeting all challenges in a fast-paced business
    • A Degree in Business, Finance, Science or similarly numerate subject is desirable
    • Advanced skills in office tools, specifically Excel & Access
