This is an exciting time to join Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Adult Social Care. We are currently looking to recruit additional Social Workers into the West Bromwich Community Social Work team.
We are looking for committed and hardworking qualified Social Workers with Adult Social Work experience with older people, people with physical disabilities and sensory impairments, as well as mental health issues. You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation including the Care Act 2014, Safeguarding, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Community DOLS/LPS.
You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults and their carers with a strength-based approach to support them to achieve their outcomes within the wider community. You will need to be confident in undertaking safeguarding investigations, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, carrying out outcome focused assessments, with support planning, to meet their care and support needs.
You must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and with our partner agencies to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and their carers.
You will be given an induction, appropriate training opportunities and regular supervision with an experienced manager. You will be working in a friendly environment with in a skilled, diverse and supportive team.
You must have a degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent.
You will also be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.
