Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Complex Care Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team in Liverpool. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing specialized care to patients with complex medical needs. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients, and you will be responsible for delivering high standards of care in line with our company values.
Key Responsibilities:
PEG Feeding: Administering and managing percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding, ensuring patients receive the correct nutrition and hydration.
Tracheostomy Care: Providing comprehensive tracheostomy care, including cleaning and maintenance, to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Wound Dressing: Performing wound care and dressing changes with precision and attention to infection control protocols.
Medication Administration: Safely administering medications as prescribed, monitoring for side effects, and maintaining accurate records.
Stoma Care: Managing stoma care with empathy and expertise, including cleaning, changing, and educating patients and families on stoma maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Health Care Assistant in a complex care setting.
Proficiency in PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, wound dressing, medication administration, and stoma care.
Relevant healthcare qualifications and training.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
