The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) has an exciting opportunity for an Editorial Assistant to join us on a part time, fixed term basis.

In this role, you will support Professor Sonia Boyce with the publication of their book The Fissures of Modernism: Black Artists and Collecting Cultures. This is a Black Artists & Modernism (BAM) research project publication, which will be delivered as a book with Duke University Press.

You will support Professor Boyce with all activities leading to publication, including liaising with commissioning editors and issuing contracts. You will manage and coordinate in-house teams, writers, photographers, printers, designers and production staff, negotiating and monitoring timescales for stages in the publishing process to ensure key deadlines are met.

About you

You will need administrative experience in the academic publishing and copyediting sector, along with excellent communication, planning and team working skills. You will demonstrate an excellent command of the English language with the ability adapt messages for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible fashion.
