We have an exciting opportunity in the Office of the IT Director for someone with a passion for enhancing governance and risk management procedures. This new position offers you the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring our accountable persons have assurances to enable their strategic decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with accountable persons (IT Services Executive) to ensure action plans are formulated to mature all aspects of governance within IT Services
- Maintaining departmental policies, establishing clear oversight, and ensuring they are appropriately owned, published, and maintained.
- Establishing a routine risk monitoring process, ensuring treatment plans remain timely, proportionate, and aligned to the level of risk faced by the department.
- Developing the monthly IT Services Strategy Board risk reporting and implementing dashboard metrics to demonstrate risk insights.
- Working with our internal and external audit partners and IT Services stakeholders to satisfy requests for information.
The ideal candidate:
- Ability to guide IT Services colleagues through governance, risk and assurance activities, and ensure that requirements and best practice are incorporated into ways of working.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt approach across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills with an appreciation of business, compliance, and reputational impacts
- Ability to develop, continually track and report on risk and compliance metrics and key performance indicators and draw out trends for the attention of leadership.
- Familiarity with related disciplines such as Information Security and data protection (GDPR).
