We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow who will be embedded in a multi-disciplinary research team focused on the prevention and early detection of gastrointestinal cancers. You will work with leaders in the field of cancer research, including epidemiologists, statisticians, radiologists and surgeons. The research will be supervised by Professor Cross, Head of the Cancer Screening and Prevention Research Group (CSPRG, ). You will join a friendly, highly motivated team and you will be involved in several clinical research projects funded by the UK Government and charities such as Cancer Research UK. You will have an opportunity to work with international collaborators and to develop skills in cutting-edge observational studies and clinical trials.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with an interest in research and they would be expected to register for a higher degree. You must be able to demonstrate some previous experience in research and must show evidence of ability to develop personal research projects.
The post holders will also be required to fulfil clinical commitments within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, among others, to contribute to their on-call rotas.
A degree in medicine (MBBS or equivalent) and full General Medical Council (GMC) registration is essential. You will have or be working towards MRCS or equivalent. We are seeking Core Trainee and Specialist Trainee level individuals, with appropriate ATLS/ALS qualification. Surgical, gastroenterology and oncology trainees are invited to apply. Proven experience in an acute hospital setting is required.
This is a full-time for 3 years. Anticipated start date: 03 April 2024
