Our Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You'll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home. The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps.

The Traffic team sits within the sales department at Channel 4. The team's role is to assist in maximising advertising revenue from commercial airtime, working within the relevant Ofcom regulations and in accordance with The Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice (BCAP) Code. The team are responsible for creating compliant commercial and sponsorship playlists for broadcast across Channel 4's portfolio of TV channels and for streaming.

The team ensure that all advertising breaks and advert and sponsorship placements are fit for broadcast, have passed all regulatory compliance, and are scheduled or served with due care and attention, establishing that their content and timing are suitable, in line with Clearcast guidance, and avoiding unsuitable juxtapositions in programmes.

This role is a key point of contact for creative agencies, Campaign Operations and the wider Sales team. The Traffic Apprentice will be responsible for ensuring that advertising copy queries are responded to promptly ahead of relevant deadlines.

The role requires a very high level of attention to detail and it is essential to be able to demonstrate the ability to read and digest information and produce clear and accurate communication, and where necessary make judgement calls.

Responsibilities

Support team in break checking and sequencing order of adverts.Support the setup management of advertising copy, products, commodities and advertisers.Ensure advertising is compliant with broadcast regulation and appropriate for play out.Preparation of advertising playlists to be sent for transmission to broadcast centres to fixed deadlines.View programming to assess appropriate commercial content and distributing notes to the immediate and broader sales teamCommunicate effectively and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Administrate post transmission logs for reconciliation purposes. Team player, but capable of working independently – E.g. working by yourself to complete your tasks on time whilst also collaborating with colleagues/students on another project.
