About the team:

eBay's UK Head Office is based in beautiful Richmond right on the

riverside, easily accessible from Central London. The team is made up

of diversely rich backgrounds and people from all around the world.

Our UK business is made up of four core teams - Marketing &

Communications, Business to Consumer Trading, Consumer to

Consumer Business and Operations.

We're a relatively small team in the UK so you will need to be able to

navigate well across different parts of the business & be flexible within

your role. This will enable you to relish the opportunities that come

your way and take advantage of also being part of a large, global

company.

What our Program offers:

  • Title: Data Apprentice
  • A 24-month full-time program that allows recent graduates be part of our very successful and innovative business
  • "Data Citizen" training: a 14-month blended learning programme provided by an external partner
  • 20% of the working week will be spent on learning and practicing the new skills and 80% of the working week will be applying those skills and learnings
  • 6 months rotation in Analytics and Finance teams after completing the "Data Citizen" trainingThe opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic team with full-time, on the job experience

What we are looking for:

  • Recently graduated
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • A bias for action
  • Passion and curiosity
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to build phenomenal relationships
  • A good use of Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • A data savvy approach
  • Ideally graduated from a discipline which requires numerical skills (i.e. Economics, Physics, etc.)
  • No prior Data Analysis degree or related experience

Government Requirements for the Apprenticeship Program:

  • Aged 16 or over
  • Not in full-time education
  • Resident in the UK or EEA for the last 3 years
  • Have the right to work in the UK and spend at least 50% of their
  • working hours in England over the duration of the apprenticeship
  • Be one of the following:
    • A citizen of a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) (including other countries determined within the EEA or those with bilateral agreements), or have the right of abode in the UK, and have been ordinarily resident in the EEA (including other countries determined within the EEA or those with bilateral agreements), for at least the previous three years on the first day of learning.
  • A non-EEA citizen with permission from the UK government to live in the UK, (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of learning.
  • If the candidate needs a visa to stay and work in the UK, then it will be the candidate's responsibility to sort this out. Ebay will not be acquiring any visas for the apprentices.

Some FAQs:

  • Criteria: We are looking for those who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
  • Timeframes: We are aiming to respond to short-listed candidates by April. Offers will be made by June/July 2023, for August 2023 start date. The process has three stages covering a phone interview, online verbal and numerical assessment, and a virtual assessment center.
  • Rotations: There will be a rotation at the end of the 14 months period. The rotations will be between Analytics and Finance teams
  • Covid-19: We are currently operating a hybrid model and our UK office offers lots of perks, from massages to catering. We want to ensure our set up is inclusive, safe and fully supports our UK buyers and sellers.
