About the team

We are establishing a voice network architecture function that plays a crucial role in providing reliable network routing to support Worldpay's global voice and digital traffic for both contact center and back-office functions.

What you will be doing

As a Voice Network Architect, you will define, design, maintain, and extend functional network and infrastructure architecture for Worldpay's networks, tooling, automation, and public cloud connectivity. Understand the business requirements for voice/digital channels that support contact center and back-office functionalities and translate them into functional designs.

  • Create and maintain documents and diagrams on cloud architecture, policies, standards, and patterns.
  • Provide technical vision and direction to enable engineering teams to implement effective cloud security tools and technology solutions.
  • Document and publish appropriate architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns, and frameworks.
  • Define, construct, support and provide training for enterprise frameworks.
  • Define and maintain a library of functional component models within and across Worldpay product lines.
  • Define voice network architecture roadmap with an eye to future trends, technologies, and automation.
  • Maintain and train Engineering and Operations teams on catalog of predefined solutions available for new projects.
  • Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.
  • Communicate voice network architecture to technical and business audiences.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you bring:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in voice network architecture in public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience with communication infrastructure, device compatibility and integration with CCaaS platforms such as NICE, Genesys, Nuance, 8x8, AWS, Talkdesk, Five9, Sprinklr, Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g. executive, management, individual contributors.
  • Experience conducting vendor analysis and product evaluations.
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving, team and time management skills.
  • In depth knowledge of a broad range of network design, configuration, operations, and administration.
  • Knowledge of network technologies, i.e. routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, DNS.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), including troubleshooting signaling message types, such as REGISTER, INVITE, ACK or CANCEL, and various stages of communication flow.
  • Knowledge of Session Description Protocol (SDP), including troubleshooting voice, video, and data response messages, discerning return responses and status codes to identify failures and errors.
  • Knowledge of audio, including G.711, G.729, and video, such as H.264, H.265, VP8 or VP9 encoding standards.
