Position: Transport Manager

Location: Bathgate, West Lothian

Job Description: As a Transport Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising our transportation operations. You will be responsible for managing a team of drivers and ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimise efficiency and minimise costs.
  • Supervise a team of drivers, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Coordinate with management teams to schedule and manage routes, and prioritise workload.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and legal operating environment.
  • Monitor and analyse transportation metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in transportation operations.

Qualifications:

  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence.
  • Proven experience in transportation management, with a strong understanding of logistics operations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
