Hoistway Ltd is a thriving business in the lift industry – specialising in bespoke lift installations, servicing and repairs and is seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Technician to join our team. Job Purpose: The Service Department currently maintain approximately 646 units and is set to continue growing. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment and systems across company contracts and projects, as well as providing support to the members of your team. Your role will include potential overnight stays, weekend working, and flexibility for early starts and/or late finishes.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Education: NVQ Level 4 in Lift Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in the elevator sector in a senior position.
  • Professional Qualifications/Certifications: Relevant certifications in lift engineering.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Attending lift breakdowns and customer callouts
  • Undertaking technical diagnostic work on problem lifts
  • Providing technical support for other engineers
  • Carrying out routine maintenance visits
  • Carrying out or assisting with repair work
  • Undertaking technical surveys and site quality audits
  • Identifying engineer training needs, arranging and delivering technical and safety training including toolbox talks
  • Liaising with management on matters of Health and Safety in the field
  • Liaising with manufacturer technicians
  • Providing support and advice to the Repair Sales administration
  • Out of hours call outs
  • Dealing with customers and members of the public
