Senior Electrical Design Engineer Building Services

A very reputable engineering and sustainability organisation with multiple offices throughout the UK. They are currently engaged in a number of projects ranging in size across Data Centres, Education, Residential, Retail, Healthcare and more. Highly technical and well experienced senior management with clear plans outlined for staff development and progression. Trusting and flexible working environment. Currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer, flexible on level but as long as you have roughly 5-10 years experience to join their modern city centre Glasgow office.
Role
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems .
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
- Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Trimble, in-house developed tools, etc.
- Leading and mentoring junior engineers.
- Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
Qualifications / Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering
- Ideally chartered or working towards this with CIBSE or IET.
- 5-10 years experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design within the built environment.
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients.
- Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, act on own initiative.
- Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as Trimble, Dialux, Excel.
- Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams.
