Job Description:

Role: Senior QA Engineer

Seniority: Senior

Type: Full-time/Permanent

Salary: DOE

Location: London (Hybrid working)

About the Company

We are recruiting on behalf of an innovative, fast-growing health-tech company that is revolutionising the fitness industry. Their flagship product combines advanced computer vision, connected weights, and 3D cameras to offer personalised, in-home training sessions led by world-class athletes. Having gained recognition with features in Selfridges, Good Morning Britain, and as one of Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies of 2024, this is an exciting time to join their small but highly accomplished team.

With cutting-edge technology that enables real-time form correction, rep counting, and live feedback, their intelligent hologram mirror provides a fully customised workout experience. The company has also partnered with top athletes to create exclusive content across various disciplines including strength training, yoga, and dance, offering personalised feedback and tracking similar to personal training—without the high costs. They are backed by prominent venture capital investors, including those who have funded companies like Grover, Scalapay, and Onfido.

About the Role

Our client is looking for their first Senior QA Engineer, who will take full ownership of the quality assurance process across their platform. This will involve everything from their smart mirror application and computer vision form tracking to workout content and hardware components. You will work closely with the CPO and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards across all areas of the product. As part of a high-performing team with successful exits in their past ventures, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead QA for the mirror application, admin web app, computer vision form tracking, workout content, and hardware (mirror, bench, dumbbells).
  • Implement shift-left testing practices to ensure quality is integrated throughout the development cycle.
  • Conduct manual testing of the mirror software to identify and reproduce bugs.
  • Introduce and maintain testing practices such as regression, functional, and exploratory testing.
  • Assist the computer vision engineers with manual testing of their tracking system to ensure accuracy in rep counting and form feedback.
  • Collaborate with the content team to manually test new workout content and ensure it meets high-quality standards.
  • Inspect new mirrors from shipments to ensure they meet the required specifications.
  • Ensure smooth and regular feature releases, working closely with developers to minimise bugs.
  • Potential opportunity to take on a leadership role as the QA team grows.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a QA Engineer, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of mobile and web app testing, including usability principles.
  • Ability to design comprehensive test strategies across multiple areas of a product.
  • Proficiency with project and test management tools (e.g. JIRA, Xray).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and process-minded, with a strong focus on quality.
  • Experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in teams.
  • Passion for developing technology that is transforming the fitness industry, though prior fitness experience is not required.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience conducting QA testing for hardware products in addition to software.
  • Product-minded with an understanding of how to build consumer-facing products.
  • Previous experience as a developer is advantageous.
  • A passion for fitness and experience with fitness products is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Share options in the company
  • Immediate impact with high responsibility from day one
  • Unlimited holiday
  • Hybrid working with at least 2 days WFH per week
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Hardware budget for new Macbook or other devices
  • Professional learning and development budget
  • Regular team socials

This is a rare opportunity to join a company that is shaping the future of fitness technology. If you are a Senior QA Engineer looking for a chance to make a real impact in a rapidly scaling business, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now
