We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing/implementing tests, managing the R&D lab, and supporting the R&D engineers in day-to-day lab activities. The Electrical Technician will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to understand objective of a test and build up a comprehensive test plan/series to meet the testing objectives.


Responsibilities


Test System Design and Development:

  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and protocols for electrical systems and components.
  • Design and build test fixtures and equipment to support testing activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure testability of products during the development phase.

Test Execution:

  • Conduct electrical tests on prototypes, products, and components to verify performance and adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues that arise during testing, collaborating with other engineers to find effective solutions.
  • Ensure that tests are conducted accurately, efficiently, and safely.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices related to electrical testing.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyse test results and compile detailed reports, providing insights into product performance and areas for improvement.
  • Document and communicate test procedures, results, and findings to cross-functional teams.

R&D Lab Management:

  • Propose and implement improvements to testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure the lab is well organized, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain inventory of lab supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Monitor and calibrate measuring systems and instruments to ensure precise and consistent performance.
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and keep records of calibration and maintenance up to date.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in electrical or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or a similar role. Preferably in an R&D or laboratory setting
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing methodologies, equipment, and standards.
  • Proficient in using testing tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analysers, LCR, TDR, and other specialized equipment.
  • High voltage test experience is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
