We are committed to making a positive impact on the environment, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Principal or Senior Ecology Consultant to join our dynamic team nationwide


The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to work on exciting projects, and contribute to the growth and success of our ecology services.


As an Principal Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering ecological assessments, providing expert advice to clients, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, from large-scale infrastructure developments to biodiversity conservation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a range of ecological projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Conduct ecological surveys and assessments, including habitat assessments, protected species surveys, and ecological impact assessments (EcIAs).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear and concise ecological advice and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and support gradudate ecologists, providing guidance and overseeing their work to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), EcIAs, and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant UK wildlife legislation, planning policies, and industry standards.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Ecology or related field
  • 4+ years experience ecological consultancy, with a strong track record of managing and delivering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  • Proficiency in conducting ecological surveys and assessments, particularly for protected species and habitats.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in report writing and client presentations.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required to site
