We are seeking a highly skilled Documentation Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in establishing and maintaining best practices for documentation across our organization, with a focus on API documentation and product feature documentation. Working to embed and support the best practices across our product development lifecycle.


Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, etc.) to develop a comprehensive documentation strategy that aligns with our business goals and technical requirements.
  • Documentation Strategy: Lead the alignment of product and engineering teams to the defined documentation strategy.
  • API Documentation: Develop best practices and processes for our Engineering squads to build clear, concise, and accurate API documentation
  • Documentation Strategy: Utilize industry-standard tools and formats (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger) to ensure / demonstrate consistency and accessibility of API documentation.
  • Documentation Strategy: Maintain the mechanisms for our Engineering Squads to update API documentation as our platform evolves.
  • Product Feature Documentation: Working with our Product team and Technical Solution Analysts to establish the best practices and processes to aid in the development of user-friendly product documentation (product user guides, release notes, support guides, product enhancements) with consideration of both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Product Feature Documentation: Ensure product documentation is accessible through various channels (e.g., online help center, knowledge base).
  • Process Improvement: Implement standardized processes for documentation creation, review, and maintenance.
  • Process Improvement: Introduce tools and technologies to streamline documentation workflows and enhance collaboration.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance, support guides and training to our cross functional teams on documentation best practices.
  • Training and Support: Offer support for documentation-related enquiries and issues.


Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: 7+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation roles, preferably in the fintech or payments industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of APIs, RESTful architecture, and related technologies.
  • Documentation Expertise: Demonstrated ability to create high-quality API documentation and user guides.
  • Tools and Technologies: Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Confluence, MadCap Flare) and API specification formats (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
