GEM Programming Solutions is a UK based, niche Biometrics CRO providing statistical programming solutions for the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.


Due to our continued growth, we are hiring ambitious graduates with experience of programming and a desire to develop and learn. Success in this role hinges upon your attention to detail. Graduates will go through an extensive training process, preparing them to become experts in programming for clinical studies.

The Role

  • Develop proficiency in SAS® and R for reporting clinical trial data.
  • Become knowledgeable in CDISC (SDTM, ADaM) and other industry standards.
  • Create detailed specifications that document mapping of raw data to standardised data.
  • Write programs to generate industry standard datasets.
  • Produce programs to generate tables, listings, and figures used in clinical study reporting.
  • Write validation code.
  • Identify and feedback issues regarding the clinical database.

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a STEM subject.
  • Experience of hands-on programming, e.g. R, SAS, Python, or other statistical packages via a degree module or work experience.
  • Familiarity with MS Office 365 (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • An understanding of the importance of quality in your work with good attention to detail.
  • Strong propensity for problem solving and logical thinking.
  • A self-starter who is curious and has a thirst for learning.
  • Willingness to apply innovative programming techniques to solve problems.
  • Can adapt and respond to requests from across the business.
  • Flexible mindset and ability to work across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • This is a UK based position, and applicants must be willing (and able) to work at home **.

Desirable

  • Degree with an element of statistical and/or biomedical topics.
  • An understanding of R, specifically the ‘tidyverse’ set of packages and/or Shiny.
