Manchester, United Kingdom On the Beach Full time

Who we are

Hola

We’re On the Beach. There’s over 600 of us, mostly at home, and sometimes in our office in Manchester.

We send nearly two million people on holiday every year (not together) and we’re expecting to get to three million pretty sharpish. Why? Because we’re the only holiday company who truly gets why going on your jollies is the most wonderful time of the year.

With our market-leading offers, scalable, flexible and innovative technology, strong customer-value proposition and low-cost base, we’re challenging existing players and redefining how customers book, manage and experience their holidays.

On the Beach Group plc is one of the UK's largest online beach holiday retailers, with significant opportunities for growth so our story’s only really just begun…

We're on the lookout for talented, beach-loving people to join us and contribute to the next chapter of our story.

We're a down to earth and friendly bunch, with little bureaucracy or hierarchy, and whilst we may have grown in size, we've not lost our entrepreneurial spirit. It's in our DNA.

You'll find diverse teams, reflective of the world we live in and the customers we serve. We believe strongly that difference, not uniformity, is critical to our success. We know that better decisions happen when they are made by a range of voices, perspectives and experiences. As an equal opportunities’ employer, we value and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

What you’ll be doing

As a data analyst, your role involves conducting in-depth analyses of customer behaviour, experimentation, and problem solving business questions through data. Your primary responsibility is to deliver actionable insights that will shape data-driven decision-making within our product squads and across the entire business.

In this position, you will act as a valued partner and consultant to the product squads, contributing at nearly every stage of the product development process. Your involvement ranges from supporting ideation/hypothesis workstreams and defining success KPIs to evaluating product changes and challenging decisions through data-informed recommendations, especially during iterative AB/multi-variant testing.

The role will also encompass:

  • Being a Subject Matter Expert on site data, specialising in AB/multivariate analysis
  • Writing SQL queries via Google BigQuery to derive deeper insights from our Google Analytics dataset
  • Collaborating closely with researchers to comprehend and interpret qualitative data, piecing together the full picture of the customer holiday researching journey and customer needs
  • Creating and configuring dashboards in Power BI or Looker Studio to effectively report core KPIs and trends for stakeholders
  • Supporting commercial trade investigations and peer reviewing other analyst’s work with a methodical approach
  • Support wider team in building out a best in class data environment

About you

Skills that you will bring to On the Beach include:

As an advocate for a data-informed mindset, your mission is to elevate the culture of experimentation to new heights. We are looking for an individual with a detective and problem-solving mindset, accompanied by a strong passion and eagerness to learn all aspects of working with data—ranging from hands-on experience with technical ETL pipelines to engaging in discussions about the colour theme of our dashboard layouts. The ability to embrace customer centricity, stepping into the shoes of our customers, is not just encouraged but essential for success in this position.

  • High level proficiency in SQL
  • Strong technical skills in data analysis and statistics
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g. Looker data studio/Power Bi)
  • Deep understanding of Google Analytics
  • Advanced excel or google sheets
  • Comfortable storytelling with data

Beneficial:

  • Python/R for data analysis
  • Tracking Specifications (Google Tag Manager DataLayer)

What to expect from our interview process:

All our interviews are on Microsoft Teams, where you will meet a mixture of leaders and members of the team from across Product and Tech so you get to chance to ask your questions to the people you will be working alongside.

We want to make sure everybody has the opportunity to perform at their best. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the interview process, please let the Talent team know and they will be happy to assist.

Our ways of working:

This role is full time hours, 37.5 hours per week, working Monday – Friday 09:00 - 17:00. We offer hybrid working, you’ll be in the office 2 days per week and working from home 3 days per week, we have a hybrid policy where this can flex depending on location.
