Our client, a Big 4 Chinese Bank with over 70 years of operations, is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Manager with large corporates experience to join the Credit Risk Team in London.


Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Independent Credit Risk Assessments: Provide independent, high-quality credit risk assessments and recommendations for corporate, financial institutions, sovereign counterparties, issuers, clients, and country risks. Ensure these assessments are reviewed in line with credit policy.
  • Support and Monitor Credit Risks, assist the Deputy Head of Risk in identifying, monitoring, and controlling all credit risks in the bank. Maintain appropriate credit risk management controls, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Accurately report credit exposures and monitor adherence to approved credit limits. Report credit limit breaches according to policy and support the Deputy Head of Risk in supervising risk analysts.
  • Credit Exposure and Risk Methodologies: Develop and improve methodologies for calculating credit exposures and monitoring portfolio credit risks. Stay informed on market changes affecting the bank's credit and country risks and communicate these to senior management.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide advice and assistance on credit-related matters to all Business Areas, support the completion and presentation of credit proposals, and assist in reviewing and developing policies and procedures.


Requirements of this role include:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • Strong experience in analysing credit risks of all types and experience of implementing credit risk management frameworks
  • A good understanding of a broad range of wholesale banking and treasury products and a strong understanding of the sources of credit risk in such products
  • A good understanding of the UK regulatory framework
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Skills in Mandarin would be an advantage
  • Good team skills, in particular the ability to work closely with the Business Areas whist maintaining independence
