They cultivate a supportive atmosphere where mentorship and professional development are central to their mission.About the JobThis role plays a pivotal part in enhancing the internal control environment to align with SOx standards. Acting as a key figure within the finance team, the Financial Controls Specialist will focus on addressing control deficiencies, improving financial reporting processes, and supporting audit readiness across the UK&I Retail business.Duties will include:Executing remediation plans for SOx control weaknesses across financial operationsRedesigning and implementing robust financial controls in partnership with process ownersReviewing and updating process documentation (e.g. flowcharts, narratives, RCMs)Conducting control design and operating effectiveness testingLiaising with internal and external auditors and ensuring audit readinessSupporting compliance efforts with COSO and US GAAP frameworksPromoting awareness of financial control standards through training initiativesDriving continuous improvements and enhancing efficiency across finance processesAssisting in the rollout of digital tools to improve visibility and reportingAbout the Successful ApplicantYou will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven experience in SOx compliance or working within a strong internal control environment. You’ll possess strong technical knowledge of SOX 404, COSO, and ICFR principles, along with excellent documentation and testing skills.
