Then we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Production Manager, reporting into the Production Manager, based at our manufacturing site, Vantage Point, Snodland. This role will be Mon-Fri 8:00am-16:00pm. With a generous renumeration package on offer – based on experience and suitability.


You will be supporting the Production Manager, overseeing, and facilitating all related production activities related to the achievement of daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer requirements. Whilst supporting and maintaining production efficiency and utilisation as necessary for the financial and operational delivery of the business.


What you can expect as an Assistant Production Manager:

  • Interpret customer demand and support the planning of activities to achieve deliveries; on time and in full
  • Control all production documentation issued to meet the daily/weekly customer requirements
  • Control, monitor and report daily production performance to match customer and business requirements within the agreed parameters (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Safety)
  • Assist the Production Manager in the development of the continuous improvement culture and company objectives by maximising employee involvement to improving output, Quality and cost reduction
  • Control and monitor standards of conduct within the production area, ensuring that company procedures are adhered to, including Quality, Health & Safety, attendance/timekeeping, employee conduct, accident reporting and general housekeeping
  • Actively conduct time studies and adjust within the planning system accordingly
  • Attend (and as needed run) the daily Production Meetings and report on the production activities
  • Communicate the production requirements and priorities to the team leaders.
  • Conduct necessary toolbox talks to the team on all matters relating to the business priorities and needs
  • Assume responsibility for all production related tasks in the production managers absence
  • Communicate and collaborate with production team and colleagues on any employee issues and escalate appropriately
  • Advise production management on recruitment requirements and support the development as well as training of operators in the business
  • Actively support the production manager on matters of discipline and manage the conduct of the production workers
  • Liaise and effectively communicate information to orders as needed across the wider business including customer services, purchasing and planning


We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a component manufacturing/assembly environment is essential
  • A clear knowledge of production controls and measurements
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Line management experience, e.g Team Leader
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
