We are working for a national Measured, Building, and Project Consultancy renowned for providing expert, specialist services across the UK. Our client's diverse clientele includes Owners, Developers, Occupiers, Funders, Architects, Project Managers, Building Surveyors, and Asset & Fund Managers. They offer comprehensive services such as Building Condition Surveys, Measured Surveys, Project Management, and Sustainability services, including Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).


Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Building Surveying to join their team.  This is an exciting new opportunity to work within a dynamic team, with an exceptional reputation in the market, offering a range of building services. The role offers a mix of professional and project work, providing variety and challenge while fostering professional growth.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Undertake a wide range of instructions across Building Consultancy, including Project Management & Contract Administration, Dilapidations, Landlord & Tenant Advice and TDD on a range of commercial property.
  • This role involves direct client liaison and management, with an emphasis on developing relationships and a network within the sector.
  • Seek to increase Building Surveying and Project Management turnover by 20% annually.
  • Responsibility for winning new business and growing a small team of Building Surveyors.
  • Assist, oversee and manage graduates/apprentices and other Building Surveyors.
  • React to clients’ needs; provide clients with proposals quickly and establish other service lines that they may require which PRE can provide.
  • Provide work within a quick timeframe.
  • Accurately manage individual billing and fee income reporting.
  • Preparation of specifications.
  • Party walls, dilapidations and Landlord & Tenant advice.
  • TDD surveys.
  • Preparing and checking Schedules of Condition, defects analysis and building pathology.
  • Producing RCAs.
  • Understanding Health & Safety legislation.
  • Look to develop your personal profile in the market.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • BA/BSc (Hons) Degree in Real Estate or a related field.
  • RICS qualification.
  • Significant professional experience in Building Surveying, with a proven track record in a similar leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and stakeholders.
  • A team player with a motivated, low-ego approach and a strong desire to excel and grow within the role.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects, deadlines, and diary commitments effectively.
  • Expertise in Party Wall matters, dilapidations, Landlord & Tenant advice, TDD surveys, and preparing RCAs.
  • In-depth understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
