Commercial Sales Director

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Director to join our team. As the Commercial Director, you will be accountable for driving brand awareness, lead generation, new business development, contract renewals, and managing commercials. This role requires exceptional sales skills and the ability to achieve challenging targets.
Your key responsibility will be managing a small team of lead generation professionals, business development managers, and marketing executives. You will also be responsible for covering the more complex sales and coaching in the field.
In addition, you will support the Managing Director in developing a go-to-market strategy to facilitate fast expansion and align the function with the business plan. To excel in this role, you must be comfortable supporting a direct sell all the way through to a long-term strategic sale.
Qualities required for this role include strong commercial savvy, creative problem-solving abilities, experience with short to long-term sales processes, and familiarity with early scaling up phases. You should have a high results orientation and be a big picture thinker. Enjoying selling and being responsible for achieving big numbers is a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Drive brand awareness and lead generation efforts to attract new customers
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our client base
- Manage contract renewals and negotiate terms to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
- Oversee the commercials and financial aspects of the business
- Lead, motivate, and coach a team of lead generation professionals, business development managers, and marketing executives
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop a go-to-market strategy and align with the business plan
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet challenging targets stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and competitiveness
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Commercial Director or similar role
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive revenue growth
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Creative problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking
- Familiarity with early scaling up phases and challenges
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving challenging targets
- Ability to think critically and make sound business decisions
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
