Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer

Location – Leeds

4 days from home – 1 day in the office.


Change-Digital are working with a forward-thinking, modern approach Financial Services Client based in Leeds. The have a fast paced, energetic environment like a start-up but also have the financial security of a larger bank. They are a technology first business and have lots happening in tech.


The main responsibility of the Senior/Lead DevOps Engineers will be to manage the creation, enhancement, deployment, continuous upkeep, and management of our clients AWS framework and related systems. In addition, they will provide technical guidance to junior team members, serve as the team's subject matter expert, and take on leadership roles in Agile methodologies, such as acting as a scrum master.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Work with Technology Architects to create innovative solutions and navigate governance and approval processes effectively.
  • Communicate best practices to developers and provide guidance on their implementation.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines for supporting CTO teams in their build and deployment processes.
  • Hands-on expertise in key technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, React (Native), CircleCI, Terraform, and AWS.
  • Proficiency in constructing secure, scalable, and resilient AWS infrastructures.
  • Optimize the performance of the AWS platform, maintaining its functionality and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure suppliers like Microsoft and AWS to ensure smooth operations.



Desired qualifications & experience:


The ideal candidate must have a strong background and expertise in creating, constructing, and resolving issues related to infrastructure or cloud-based solutions while demonstrating a thorough grasp of industry best practices. They will need a combination of the following skills focused on their specific area:


  • Experience in developing, setting up, configuring, and maintaining AWS Cloud Platform elements.
  • Serverless functions in AWS, including proficiency in using CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Terraform for deployments.
  • Cloud-based networking at both transit gateway and hub/spoke levels, encompassing lambda networking, VPC endpoints, and gateways.
  • DevSecOps and collaboration with Information Security (InfoSec) teams to deploy secure solutions, utilizing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cloud Security protocols, and third-party security tools like AquaSec.
  • Ability to self-manage development projects, tasks, and time efficiently, utilizing Agile methodologies and traditional delivery approaches
