This role will lead the Procurement function both strategically and operationally across the Multi-Academy Trust. The Head of Procurement will lead the procurement function across E-ACT, ensuring that all purchasing activities are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with relevant regulations and policies. The postholder will also be required to:
- Develop and implement a trust-wide procurement strategy aligned with the Trust's goals and objectives.
- Implement plans for the strategy so that delivery of savings and realisation of benefits of a strategic sourcing approach have a clear timeline.
- Provide leadership, professional development, and direction to the procurement function.
- Advise senior leadership on procurement best practices and emerging trends in the education sector.
- Oversee all procurement activities, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Manage the procurement budget and track savings and efficiencies achieved through procurement activities.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, ensuring continuity of supply and adherence to quality standards.
- Understand and work within the requirements of GDPR at all times and comply with E-ACT policy in terms of data protection.
- Develop constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies and professionals.
- Comply and assist with the development of relevant policies.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post, as requested by the CFO.
The Head of Procurement role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of end-to-end procurement. The successful applicant will lead a step change to increase the contribution of procurement to the strategic objectives of E-ACT.
You will:
- Ideally MCIPS or equivalent qualified (CIPS or QBE will be considered).
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a senior procurement role.
- Strong understanding of procurement regulations and best practices.
- Previous knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Experience in managing and developing a high-performing team.
Head of Procurement:
- c£67,500 per annum.
