Job Overview


Architectural Technician – London

Sterling Arrow is seeking an Architectural Technician for a major developer. Based in London, you will manage projects from feasibility to contractor appointment, including site plans, layouts, and branding.


You'll collaborate with the Client's acquisition team, consultants, and internal project managers on diverse projects like conversions and fit-outs. Strong design and project management skills are essential.


Flexibility is required for regular travel and occasional extended hours. The role offers up to two remote days per week, with regular in-office collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design layouts, space planning, and detailed plans for a leading convenience retail brand.
  • Assess site feasibility in terms of layout, size, deliveries, M&E, fire safety, and design.
  • Create design concepts aligned with brand standards.
  • Prepare detailed construction packs (plans, sections, branding, etc.).
  • Conduct site surveys and produce retail plans.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors on technical issues (e.g., building regulations, M&E design).
  • Review leases, surveys, and legal documents to ensure alignment with design proposals.
  • Handle planning submissions and liaise with local authorities.
  • Troubleshoot and provide alternative design solutions.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and retail design.
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail sector experience.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.


Salary: £35k - £45k (DOE)
