The Opportunity


Founded in the late 90’s, our client has become one of the most successful language service providers around the country which supplies top-end translation and interpreting services throughout the private and public sector. Not only do they offer support in over 400 languages, but they are also growing rapidly, aiming to double their tech team in the next year. Here you would be around a wide variety of technologies as well as using it for the greater good, working towards business goals to reduce language barriers and enhancing equality nationwide.



The What?


As a Senior Software Engineer you will play a pivotal role in technically leading a brand new replatforming project of our clients core language services platform. You will leverage your extensive experience in software engineering to architect scalable solutions, optimize performance, and ensure high-quality code standards across the team. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and Software Test Engineers. Your deep technical expertise, especially in modern software development frameworks and cloud technologies, will be instrumental in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This is a dynamic opportunity to impact a growing organization dedicated to bridging language barriers through innovative technology solutions.


Our client is looking for a couple of Senior Software Engineers with domain experience within the telecom industry or similar.

The ideal candidate has:


• Technical experience coding with Python & Javascript

• Experience building software for telephony systems or similar - knowledge of Asterisk, VoIP, & SIP is required.

• Strong SQL skills

• Knowledge of utilising SCM & CI/CD tools such as Git, Github Actions, Gitlab Pipeline

• Strong Unit testing experience & adept at TDD techniques.

• Experience working within an Agile enviornment & has a grasp of Agile processes.

• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure).

• Existing experience of building software for telephony system would be highly beneficial


Any experience of where you have replatformed critical systems, solution design/architecture experience &/or mentoring junior engineers would be great to hear about


WORKING PATTERN:


Our Client is based South Manchester and operates a 4 days a week onsite.
