Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Leader to oversee all aspects of engineering and manufacturing at our facilities in Dinnington and Northallerton. The leader will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, plans, and initiatives to optimise efficiency, productivity, and profitability across our organisation while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of successfully managing engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams and projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to drive high performance, collaboration, and growth within engineering and operations teams.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies to boost innovation, efficiency, and meet business goals across all departments.
  • Project Management: Oversee engineering projects, managing budgets, schedules, and risks from concept to completion.
  • Manufacturing Oversight: Lead production processes, ensuring on-time delivery, quality control, and cost targets are met.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and other teams to align operations with customer and business needs.
  • Performance Optimisation: Track and improve key performance indicators, identifying areas for process enhancements.
  • Logistics Management: Optimise logistics, transportation, and warehousing to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental regulations, driving a culture of accountability.
  • Supplier & Partner Relations: Build strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors to support business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaboration and communication with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.

Baseline Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant experience in engineering, operations, and manufacturing management, with a proven period spent in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing cross-functional teams and projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and/or chemical engineering, with a focus on industrial equipment and systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, plans, and initiatives to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience with ERP systems, project management tools, and other operational software applications.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices, including 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
