Job Title: Electrical Power Design EngineerLocation: Coventry – Mostly Remote – 1 day a fortnight on siteRole Type: PermanentSalary: £55,000 - £61,500 depending on experienceOur client, an established marine engineering firm, require an experienced Electrical Power Design Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team in Coventry.** Please note we can only consider sole UK Nationals (no dual nationalities) due to security restrictions **This is a Principal level role, whereby you will act as team lead, managing the day-to-day activities of the team and the production of deliverables. The Principal Engineer shall be responsible for developing and maintaining the competency and skills of the team, project plan and schedule project activities, while managing the resolution of any related issues.What the role of the Electrical Power Design Engineer entails:Some of the main duties of the Electrical Power Design Engineer will include:Design and develop solutions to a range of common design situations/problems using NXUnderstand and apply a range of fundamental design processes, tools, systems and techniquesDevelop and produce ways of working within NX to provide design intentWork as a member of a multi-functional team created to accomplish tasks (e.g. Capgemini, Siemens, IBM and SSNA)Begin to schedule own work to meet target time scales and budget demand using tools and techniques with guidance from their supervisorContinually seek ways to improve, processes, toolsets, systems, techniques and the generic workplaceTake an active role in high risk and high complexity tasks with low-risk involvement, supported by the project leader or equivalentWhat experience you need to be the successful Electrical Power Design Engineer:BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent and CEng (or be able to satisfy requirements for CEng)Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycleUnderstanding of at least one of the following areas: Power system modelling; generators; switchgear; protection; power electronicsIn depth understanding of Power System Architecture, Power Generation and Distribution, Protection and Co-ordination or Power Earth Fault MonitoringExperience of working within a relevant Engineering role to industry codes and standardsThis really is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Power Design Engineer to progress their career.
