Description

EOLAS Insight is a young company providing analytics and information relating to wildlife and the environment. This predominantly centres around the use of satellite and other imagery datasets in combination with AI to create automated mapping products. We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated developer to support the development of a web platform for deployment of some of our existing technologies, and support the development and integration of AI enabled services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of the development of new applications for satellite data, providing novel services to governmental bodies and other ecological customers.

 

Responsibilities

·       Creation of back end systems utilising Amazon Web Services cloud computing infrastructure.

·       Development in Python (and potentially Java / Java script).

·       Use of existing tools to create novel ecological and environmental services.

·       Database design and implementation (PostgreSQL).

·       Use of Bit Bucket for configuration management.

·       Personal project management and task monitoring.

·       Communicating your work to colleagues and externals.

·       Travelling to team meetups approximately once per quarter.


Requirements

·       A degree in a related field, or if you do not have a degree then evidence of relevant experience or interest in web development.

·       Flexibility and ability to handle a wide variety of tasks associated with work at a start-up.

·       Able to drive a project individually and take personal responsibility for deliverables.

·       Able to work in the UK from August 2024 onwards.
