Site Engineering Manager

Due to further growth and expansion at our large-scale, fast paced production facility in Thrapston, it is currently looking for a Site Engineering Manager to join their dynamic senior leadership team to drive operational success. Our Site Engineering Managers are pivotal in our overall manufacturing operation.


As the sites Engineering Manager, you will lead our engineering team to ensure the efficient, safe and cost effective operation of our manufacturing assets. You will play a pivotal figure in maintaining and enhancing our production capabilities, ensuring we meet our ambitious targets whilst adhering to stringent budget controls.


Reporting directly into the Site Manager you will form part of the senior management team where you will also be responsible for:

  • Leadership and Strategy - Provide senior leadership to the engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture and aligning engineering strategies with business objectives.
  • Operational Excellence - Oversee all aspects of site engineering operations, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of equipment and assets.
  • Budget Control - Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
  • Continuous Improvement - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality and safety across the site.
  • Project Management - Lead capital projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality and supply to support overall business objectives.


About the Site


Our site in Thrapston has gone through a period of rapid growth over the last 9 months and we’re now grading and packing more fruit and nuts than ever We produce fruit and nuts for 494 stores and for morrisons.com, which means preparing everything from apples, nuts, seeds, tomatoes, pears, citrus, blueberries, grapes and kiwis. Our team of colleagues work over a 24/7 operation to get cases of fresh food ready for our customers.


About You


We're looking for someone to join us who has previous experience working in Manufacturing/FMCG or a similar fast paced, commercially focused environment. You will have excellent communication skills and a proven track record of coaching, motivating and engaging a team. You will also have the ability to influence at all levels, demonstrate strong decision making skills and a can do attitude in a demanding environment. You will also:

  • Have an Engineering focussed qualification or degree
  • Direct experience within an engineering management position
  • Proven track record of senior leadership with strong strategic capabilities
  • Extensive experience in budget management
