Platform Engineer, Kubernetes
Our client, a leading firm in the global banking industry, is actively seeking a Kubernetes Engineer. As a significant player in the financial sector, their focus is working with the Team Lead to build their hybrid On-Prem/Public Cloud CloudNative Infrastructure. The role centers around containerization, requiring extensive knowledge of Kubernetes technologies, and emphasizes building Kubernetes from the ground up, alongside expert-level proficiency in Kubernetes.
If you are a specialist in Kubernetes, with the ability to build Kubernetes infrastructure and possess expert knowledge in its intricacies, this role is tailor-made for you. The team lead is looking for someone who is passionate about CloudNative approach to building a hybrid On-Prem/Public Cloud Kubernetes Infrastructure. As an experienced Kubernetes user, you will be proficient in conducting containerization, possess excellent troubleshooting skills, and be adept at handling pressure during system outages.
Responsibilities:
- Build Kubernetes infrastructure from the ground up, aligning with the firm's strategic vision to have 60-70% of applications operating on containers.
- Utilize a CloudNative approach to build a Hybrid Public Cloud/On-Prem Infrastructure.
- Develop software for infrastructure services, fostering continuous improvement through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Enhance system performance and diminish latency through strategic improvements.
- Bolster infrastructure reliability using common, replicable tools to minimize operational toil.
- Analyze workloads and design suitable cloud migrations where applicable.
- Identify and automate manual, repetitive tasks that do not contribute value.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes, including building and managing both in and out of the infrastructure.
- Specialized skills in Kubernetes scaling, management, and configuration, with expert-level proficiency in managing containerized applications.
- Experience building CloudNative Hybrid On-Prem/Public Cloud
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development principles and practices.
- Proven experience in containerizing applications, with a specific emphasis on Linux RedHat and hands-on experience with RedHat Satellite.
- Familiarity with Grafana, CI/CD monitoring, and the observability stack, particularly Ansible.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and DevOps principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within the team and across departments.
