About the Role:

Are you a passionate leader with a desire to make a difference? We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join a dynamic and dedicated management team in Ipswich. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring that the highest standard of care and support is consistently provided to the individuals we serve. As an Assistant Manager, you will assist in managing a multidisciplinary workforce, coordinating services, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. You will lead by example, maintaining the highest levels of care, safeguarding, and staff development, while also contributing to the continued growth of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Staff Support: Provide day-to-day management and guidance to staff, including Team Leaders. Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Budget Management: Assist the Service/Area Manager with budget monitoring and resource management to meet financial targets.
  • Staff Recruitment & Development: Support recruitment processes, supervise staff, and contribute to personal development reviews and training plans.
  • Person-Centred Care: Ensure individuals receive tailored care and oversee the preparation and review of support plans.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Care Quality Commission regulations. Conduct audits on service delivery and health & safety standards.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work with local authorities, clinicians, family members, and stakeholders to deliver holistic care.
  • Administration & Reporting: Oversee service delivery reporting, finance procedures, invoicing, payroll, and sickness/leave monitoring.
  • Risk Management: Ensure that risk assessments and safeguarding measures are followed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience & Qualifications: Degree level or QCF Level 5 in Health/Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience managing staff and resources in healthcare or social care.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to motivate and inspire teams to maintain high care standards.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work outside standard hours when necessary to ensure service delivery.
  • Care Management: Strong understanding of care management, support planning, and related regulations.
  • Budget Management: Experience in managing budgets and resource allocation.
  • Safeguarding & Health & Safety: Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
