Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Group Financial Controller to join our dynamic FTSE 100 organisation. This is a pivotal role supporting the group during its year-end process, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and managing the external audit process. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in listed companies and a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape.


Key Responsibilities

Year-End Financial Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of the Group's consolidated year-end financial statements under IFRS.
  • Oversee the production of subsidiary statutory accounts, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed.


Audit Management

  • Act as the key point of contact for external auditors during the year-end audit process.
  • Coordinate and manage audit requests, ensuring the timely provision of accurate documentation and responses.
  • Address any audit findings or adjustments effectively.


IFRS Compliance

  • Provide expertise on the application of IFRS standards, advising on any complex accounting treatments or changes in standards.
  • Monitor developments in IFRS and ensure the Group remains compliant with all relevant regulations.


Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage, mentor, and support the finance team during the year-end period, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Work closely with the CFO, finance leadership, and other senior stakeholders to provide clarity on financial results and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.


Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the ongoing development of internal reporting tools and systems.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in financial leadership roles, with recent experience in listed companies (FTSE 100 or FTSE 250 preferred).
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of IFRS and its practical application in large, complex organisations.
  • Audit Management: Strong track record of managing external audits in a listed company environment.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, auditors, and external parties.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools is advantageous.
