Role: Entrance Matting Installers
Job Type: Full time, Employed (sub-contractors are also welcome to apply)
Salary: TBC (offer will be based on level of experience/competency for the role)
Company Description
Established in 1979 with over 40 years of experience, SDS Matting are a market leader in the supply & installation of architectural entrance matting systems across the UK.
We work with leading contractors in the construction industry and our completed project portfolio consists of projects within the Commercial, Hospitality, Retail, Transport (Rail, Airports & Bus), High-End Residential & Leisure sectors.
Role Description
As an Entrance Matting Installer, you would be working onsite in a fast pace environment installing and maintaining architectural entrance matting systems, ensuring quality and precision in every installation. Day-to-day tasks would typically include:
- The installation of matting & matwell frames
- Carrying out of sub-floor preparation (latex, screed etc)
- Potentially carrying out site surveys (for the right candidate)
- Matwell cleaning & repairs
- Communicating and liaising with both customers onsite and staff in the office
Location:
The ideal candidates would be located within a 50-60 mile radius of London or in the South-East although this is not essential as we work nationwide and would be very willing to consider all applications.
Qualifications
- Experience in installing entrance matting systems or similar construction-related experience i.e floor coverings, carpentry or similar roles, would be preferrable but is NOT essential. Training can be provided, which also makes this a great opportunity for a young person or somebody starting out in the construction industry that is willing & keen to learn a new trade alongside experienced industry specialists.
- Health & Safety / First-Aid training is preferrable but not essential.
- CSCS Card or Skilled Worker Card is preferrable but not essential.
- Valid UK Driving License

- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Reasonable physical fitness and ability to lift and move materials onsite
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Team-player
- Hard-working & willing to learn
- Self-motivated
- Positive attitude and the ability to problem-solve and overcome obstacles
- Competent English speaker
